The 70% Rule: Part 2

Thursday, June 11, 2009 in Controlling Time, Film, Real Talk

Here is part 2 of the 70% rule I was sent regarding Time Management.
If you missed part 1 then please read here
Enjoy

Imagine, we have three tasks. They are all at zero out of ten in terms of where we want them to be. We get the first task to 7/10. We are not 100% happy with this, but it is at an acceptable level. Therefore, we let the “perfectionism” inside subside for that particular task, in pursuit of “perfection” of the whole task. Lets repeat line.
“Therefore, we let the ‘perfectionism’ …

Convince Me Like The Usual Suspects

I made this video in response to a course I was recently teaching. I was explaining that you need to convince people to be your friends or follower, as I had watched The Usual Suspects the night before and something Kevin Spacey said sparked off a chain of thought.
As my videos are only meant to be 60 seconds (even though every single one has been over) I couldn’t put everything I wanted to say in it, so i will further explain here.
So what are some ways of convincing people to …

The 70% Rule: Part 1

Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Controlling Time, Film, Real Talk

I was sent this post by someone who wishes to remain anonymous.  We were constantly going back and forth over this concept and I really like his way of thinking.  Now this might not be for everybody but it is definitely food for thought.  It is a long post so I have decided to break it up over two parts. Let me know what you think.  Do you ever apply this concept?

From now on, I want you to put an equal amount of blueberries in each muffin….I don’t care how …

You Are Not In Here With Me!!!!!!

Monday, March 16, 2009 in Film, Social Media, The Power of Digital

So I just watched the film The Watchman and I am undecided.  I originally came out thinking it was rubbish but a lot of my friends think it was a piece of art.  I think I may have to take another trip back to the cinema and reassess to confirm my original opinion.  Note: I did think that the matrix & Batman Begins were wack the first time I saw them until I watched again and now I cannot trust myself with an opinion on films LOL.
POTENTIAL FILM SPOILER: Anyway, …

Ok so no matter how old you are everyone remembers this movie. Where the street con artist changes places with the business man!
This post is a really hard one for anyone to admit too but I have seen on many occasions the tables turn on people. Yes that’s right that young person who was stuffing envelopes is now in a position that you need. Being an intern, street team member or junior member of staff you get treated in a certain way.
Firstly I believe any job you do, you …

What do you think is better; Back To The Future 1 or 2?  My vote would be the first one but I did really enjoy the sequel.
I remember when Back To The Future 2 came out and everybody was saying by the turn of the century you would be able to buy a Hoverboard.  It wouldn’t surprise me if people were on eBay trying to sell them now. But, if there was one thing I wish I had from that film it would have been the sport almanac book that …

The Dark Knight was one of my favourite films of last year.  In fact, it was one of my favourite films in the last 5 years. Not only was the storyline excellent, but some of the scenes and script I thought was amazing & I personally took a lot from it.  All the characters were great, but Heath Ledger as the Joker (RIP), was exceptional.  (Almost as good as Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects…..almost).
You will probably read a lot of quotes from the Joker within my posts but this …
